Three Wise … Ladies?!

Seasons Greetings everyone! The mosaic you see pictured above came about during and after the Gifted Corners event I took part in earlier this month which was hosted by my hairstylists, Bespoke Hairstyles. The image featuring three ladies came to me the night before as I was preparing myself for the next day. After an exchange of WhatsApp messages within the vendor group, it was gratifying to witness the togetherness of everyone pulling together, supporting each other, giving each other much needed […]

Don’t Miss Out!

Don’t miss out on this seasonal craft gift for absolutely anyone! Let me tell you a little story … … Earlier this year I created some cute little mosaic packs which came into being only after searching for items that were not only African inspired but were fun, inspiring and creative. I couldn’t find what I was looking for so I decided to create my own. I played around with a few ideas and finally came up with three different designs which would appeal to […]

Aisha the Elephant

CREATING The making of Aisha the Elephant was probably one of my most fun projects to date! Taking over 29 hours of making time (not including installation and grouting) the process was relatively straightforward. For this project I decided to use the double indirect method (don’t ask me who makes up these terms) using sticky back plastic. I had seen other artists do it so thought I’d give it a go. I chose stained glass with iridescent accents, smalti and ceramic tile. […]

Dionne is a talented ambitious and enthusiastic artist!

"It's been a great pleasure and a real cultural benefit to work together with Dionne, setting up together a group show including her artwork at Open The Gate.

What an honor to have her creative and mature pieces delivered in a fine display on our gallery walls! Beside the exhibition we had the opportunity to host two of her children mosaic workshops that were successful: both children and parents attended and had a memorable time discovering and learning mosaic with her in a playful atmosphere.

Dionne is a talented ambitious and enthusiastic artist with a real message and vision we would like to work again with!"

Stunning Results!!

I asked Dionne to create three designs from a piece of african cloth I found on the internet.

Due to her fabulous creativity she designed exactly what I wanted as she incorporated her own style. The results are stunning.

I will be asking Dionne to create me another masterpiece in the very near future.

Something I would do again!

"Dionne came to my house for a mosaic party, ten of my daughters friends (all 5 year old girls) on our kitchen floor making tiles.

It was a fun filled time and all the girls loved it especially the glitter tiles! Dionne was great and it is something I would do again."
